CW held a seminar on Hong Kong’s major admission schemes for talent, professionals and entrepreneurs

With the gradual roll-out of the Greater Bay Area initiative, Hong Kong is strengthening its comparative advantage, deepening its talent pool and improving its innovation ecosystem to fully grasp the tremendous opportunities arising along with the formation a world-class integrated business and technology hub. And the recent launches of the Technology Talent Admission Scheme and Talent List have demonstrated the determination of the HKSAR government to attract a greater influx of overseas talents, to cultivate local technology workforce, and to support the development of the city into a high value-added and diversified economy.

In response to the aforementioned new initiatives from the HKSAR government and to spread the positive news to the innovation-based community in Greater Bay Area, on 26 October 2018, CW held a seminar at Beeplus’ co-working space in Shenzhen presenting Hong Kong’s major admission schemes to talent, professionals and entrepreneurs who are interested in migrating to Hong Kong and working in industries like cybersecurity, AI, fintech, biotechnology, robotics etc.

Shelley Lin, Assistant Manager of CW’s Business Development Team, briefly introduced the respective admission criteria, application procedure as well as documentation requirements of the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme and Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals. She also shared with the attendees CW’s experience and professional advice on handling applications for these admission schemes. Following that, May Ly, Head of CW’s Company Secretarial Department, presented the Technology Talent Admission Scheme newly released this year and explained how CW could help technology companies get admitted to The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks or Cyberport, take advantage of such fast-track visa arrangement for overseas talents, and set up their R&D unit in Hong Kong.

Professionals and corporate representatives showed high interest in the talent policies, welfare benefits and the various opportunities offered by Hong Kong. CW team discussed and answered their enquiries on corporate expansion plan, staff recruitment and relocation, office rental, cross-border tax planning etc. to end the night. As a qualified CPA firm and a one-stop service provider, apart from offering traditional professional services like accounting, auditing and tax reporting, CW continues to tailor-make our comprehensive service package to provide all-rounded HR, administration, and local policy and regulation consultation support to companies expanding into Hong Kong.
